Aqualink X

The latest product in the 'Aqualink' family of products, Aqualink X, has now been released for customer evaluation. Aqualink X has been developed in response to customer requests for a water-based aliphatic isocyanate crosslinker which unblocks at approximately 120 C. It is suitable for use in metal, textile and plastic coating formulations and also has potential for use in PUD-based heat-activated adhesive coatings.

Aqualink D released for customer evaluation

Our latest product in the Aqualink range is now available for customer evaluation. Aqualink D carries forward many of the characteristics of the popular Aqualink U, but is based on a TDI-free isocyanate which makes it especially useful in the formulation of latent 1K automotive adhesives. In addition, Aqualink D is non-yellowing, which makes it suitable for textile and coatings applications.

Phthalate-free plasticiser dispersions

Dispersions of three benzoate plasticisers have recently been developed by the Aquaspersions technical team in order to overcome the problems in adding solid plasticisers of this type into water-based formulas. These products also have the benefit of being Phthalate-free and therefore more environmentally friendly than their predecessors.

Aquaspersions launch their Aqualink range

of low activation temperature, water-based isocyanate crosslinkers, designed for use in the formulation of stable one component (1K) formulations for adhesive, coatings and textile applications.

Aqualink crosslinkers are compatible with a variety of water-based carboxyl-functional polymers, for example acrylics and polyurethanes. This exciting new technology has been developed specifically to allow the formulation of stable one component (1K) systems, which are storage stable until the cross-linking is heat activated by the end user at temperatures as low as 60°C.

Inherently suited to the adhesives, coatings and textile industries, it is anticipated that crosslinking technology of this type will facilitate the conversion of solvent borne formulations to water borne, without compromising performance. It is also beneficial that many two component (2K systems) can now easily be formulated as 1K with the use of Aqualink.
